The Causes and Risks of Gum Recession
Periodontal disease occurs when the gum tissues become inflamed, a stage typically known as gingivitis. This could be due to poor oral hygiene and/or a diet high in sugar, which increases oral acidity and plaque buildup, irritating and inflaming the gum tissues.
